Innovative climate research at Schloss Kapfenstein: focus on “HydroSheepBoost”

4. Apr 2025 | General

On March 28, Schloss Kapfenstein was all about climate change research. Researchers and practitioners presented and discussed new solutions to the challenges facing agriculture, forestry and viticulture.

One highlight of the event was the presentation of the “HydroSheepBoost” project. Antonio de Vall from Green Legacy GmbH emphasized the importance of the project:
“With ‘HydroSheepBoost’, we want to make a sustainable contribution to effectively counteracting the effects of climate change in agriculture.”

  • Under the moderation of consortium leader Robert Graimann, experts from science and practice reported on their current research work:
  • Eva Sykacek and Bianca Beer from the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna
  • Samuel Bickel from Graz University of Technology
  • Franz Knittelfelder from Gnas
  • Martin Stürmer from the Salzkammergut Federal Forests
  • Peter Flödl from the BOKU

It is particularly pleasing that the innovative biofertilizer is being tested directly at Schloss Kapfenstein. Enrique Nacif, Managing Director of Green Legacy, emphasizes:
“The close integration of science and practice is crucial in order to develop sustainable solutions for climate change.”
