Sustainability at Familypark – innovation meets responsibility

The Familypark in St. Margarethen in Burgenland is Austria’s largest leisure park and is nestled in a sensitive Natura 2000 conservation area. Every year, more than half a million guests visit the diverse attractions and lovingly designed landscapes. This also comes with a special responsibility: the maintenance of the extensive green areas should not only be a pleasure for visitors, but also in harmony with nature and the environment.

How can ecological awareness, modern landscape conservation and the joy of a lively theme park be combined? The Familypark is going one logical step further here: together with Green Legacy, an innovative water storage product was used in spring 2024 to provide young trees with an optimal supply while conserving valuable resources.

As part of our ecological landscape management, we used the Polygrain product from Green Legacy to plant six hundred oak seedlings in March 2024 and achieved extremely impressive results. The young trees have since developed magnificently and are showing healthy, strong growth.

As a leisure park in the middle of a sensitive Natura 2000 conservation area, it is particularly important to us to integrate sustainable and resource-conserving solutions into the maintenance of our green spaces. The responsible use of natural resources – especially the valuable resource of water – is a central component of our corporate philosophy.

POLYGRAIN has supported us significantly in this. Thanks to the targeted use of the product, we were able to significantly reduce the water requirements of our plantings. At the same time, the maintenance effort was also reduced.

We greatly appreciate the cooperation with Green Legacy and see the use of Polygrain as a sustainable investment in our future-oriented park design.
