Our water-retaining granules are now also being used specifically for golf, soccer and sports turf. With our new international sales partner Green Solution RPG a.s. GOLF, this area of application is also being developed and brought to other markets.

Golf and sports turf is one of the most demanding areas of green maintenance. Dense, resilient and even surfaces are crucial for quality – at the same time, the pressure from use and climatic influences is increasing. Water requirements play a key role here and can vary greatly depending on the location. On average, it is around 36,000 m³ per year for golf courses, with a wide range upwards and downwards (see BOKU Vienna, 2019).

Similar requirements also apply to soccer pitches and training facilities: intensive use, rising temperatures and longer dry spells make an efficient and targeted water supply increasingly crucial.

Polysorb+: Efficient water storage in the soil

Polysorb+ is a particularly high-performance solution for use in sports turf. The granulate can absorb more than 300 times its own weight in water, store it in the root area and release it again in a targeted manner. This supports root development, the turf grows more evenly and remains resilient even under intensive use.

A major advantage: Polysorb+ can also be retrofitted in existing facilities – for example, by using a slitting machine directly in the turf. This means that existing golf courses and sports facilities can be efficiently retrofitted without having to create a new surface.

By using Polysorb+, operators can reduce water consumption, extend irrigation intervals and reduce maintenance costs. At the same time, optimized water usage helps to reduce operating costs and manage areas more sustainably.

The water-retaining granules work directly in the soil: Placed in the root zone, they store water and nutrients and release them to the lawn as required.

Your advantages:

  • more even turf development
  • More stable playing surfaces even in dry conditions
  • Reduced watering requirements
  • Sustainable care over several years

The use in the sports sector shows how versatile the solutions are – from forestry and agriculture to intensively used lawns with the highest demands.
