HydroSheepBoost is a research and development project to improve soil health in agriculture. The project is investigating the combination of sheep’s wool as a natural nutrient carrier and biodegradable polymers for water storage in order to keep water in the soil for longer, make nutrients available in a targeted manner and make plants more resistant to drought stress. The project is coordinated by Green Legacy GmbH, implemented together with the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU) and Graz University of Technology and funded by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) as part of the “Expedition Zukunft” program.
